If you’ve been looking for non-invasive options to get rid of wrinkles, improve the tone and texture of your skin, and rejuvenate your face, a facial made with unconventional ingredients may be your best solution. The author of the The Beauty Cookbook recently appeared on The Doctors show to discuss the benefits of facial ingredients such as synthetic sperm, cereal and snail secretions.
According to author Kym Douglas, these ingredients work by soothing and moisturizing the skin, unclogging pores and may even be able to lift and tone up the skin tissues. Douglas reports that the Sperm Facial, designed with a synthesized version of spermine, can soothe, moisturize and protect the skin while reducing the effects of sun damage. The synthetic sperm is manufactured in a lab and is made with the same proteins an carbohydrate composition as natural sperm. It is applied directly onto the face to sink into the pores.
The Snail Facial is designed to open up pores and stimulate collagen and elastin production. Douglas stated that snail secretions can help to treat dry skin and clogged pores, and the antioxidants present in the substance can reduce the effects of free radicals in the environment.
Pantry items such as cereal can also be used to cleanse and rejuvenate the face. Douglas says that Cheerios cereal ground up in a blender and combined with honey and lemon juice can moisturize and exfoliate the skin, leaving it soft, silky and smooth.
Extreme facials like these may not be readily available at all medical spas and aesthetic centers, but the author of the book encourages people to look beyond standard facials to explore some more effective options. Other proven, non-invasive treatments include chemical peels, Thermage skin tightening treatments and facial fillers such as Botox, Restylane and Juvederm.
