Zeltiq Liposuction Alternative Enters U.S. Market
Posted by Cosmetic Surgery Review on February 3, 2010
Zeltiq has recently entered the U.S. market as an alternative to liposuction, and may soon become the latest competitor for Zerona and other non-invasive fat removal options available at medical spas around the country.
The Zeltiq procedure works by inducing the death of fat cells in the treated area using a suction cup that vacuums and sucks in folds of fat and then rapidly cools them for a full hour. This innovative procedure is only available at select plastic and cosmetic surgery centers in the United States and Canada, and is a non-invasive, painless procedure that may be a good match for men and women struggling to lose a few stubborn pounds.
The Zeltiq procedure can be performed on almost any area of the body that has an abundance of fat cells, and works on the underlying layers of fat, not just the subcutaneous levels. This results in a visible reduction of fat in the treated area, and most people see full results within a few months.
Zeltiq is currently available at the Naficy Plastic Surgery and Rejuvenation Center in Bellevue, Washington. The procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis and does not require any anesthesia. Patients do need to complete the full hour cycle on each treated area in order to achieve results, and they can return to their regular activities and resume physical activities including exercise immediately after the treatment. In order to achieve optimal results, patients also need to adhere to a well-balanced diet and maintain a healthy exercise regimen.
