Body Jet Water Assisted Liposuction Now Available in Canada

Posted by Cosmetic Surgery Review on February 2, 2010

Body Jet water assisted liposuction is already making waves in the United States, and has recently been introduced to medical centers and plastic surgery clinics in Canada. Dr. Sean Brian Rice is the first plastic surgeon in the country to offer Body Jet water assisted liposuction to patients, and is reporting exceptional results.

The innovative liposuction technique uses the power of pulsated water to dislodge the fat from the treatment area before it gets removed. This is an alternative to laser-based procedures that run the risk of burning the skin and tissues, and works by preserving the blood vessels and nerves for a more favorable outcome. The natural water pressure helps minimize trauma and also reduces the amount of downtime. The entire procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, and in some cases, recovery time is much faster than traditional procedures including SmartLipo and laser liposuction.

Dr. Rice reports that, “We’ve had tremendous interest in the Body-Jet procedure already…patients are intrigued by the new “water lipo” procedure that offers a more natural way in which patients can achieve results. As well, the revolutionary opportunity to repurpose unwanted fat and a faster recovery time are both of great appeal to our clients.”

The Body Jet procedure is designed primarily for people that want to lose a small amount of “stubborn fat” around their stomach, hips, thighs and arms. The procedure can be performed within a couple of hours, and does not leave much swelling or bruising because it only requires a few incisions. The average healing time is between two and five days, depending on how much fat has been extracted, and there is little risk of indentations on the surface of the skin after the procedure. Once the fat has been removed, the patient does not regain the fat in the treated area when they put on weight. As long as the patient maintains a healthy diet and exercise program, they can continue enjoying results of their procedure.
