Botox Parties Take Off in Dubai

Posted by Cosmetic Surgery Review on January 6, 2010

Attending a Botox party or other cosmetic surgery event has become a popular activity in the United States and the UK in recent years, as more plastic surgeons are branching out into the field of dermal fillers to offer patients more options in anti-aging.

Minimally invasive treatments such as Botox and skin tightening treatments such as Thermage are also making waves overseas. According to a recent report in The National, more women in Dubai are looking for the latest facial enhancement procedures and are busy turning to lip implants, facial fillers and other treatments that have become wildly popular in the United States.

Botox parties are becoming a popular trend in Dubai, and are being held as social gatherings complete with cupcakes, snacks and beverages. According to The National, Dr. Buthainah al Shunnar is one of several Emirati plastic surgeons who is spearheading this trend. Procedures that were once considered taboo among the social elite and population of Dubai are now openly demonstrated in public, and Botox has become a household name.

Both surgical and non-surgical enhancements are on the rise in the Middle East and some parts of Asia where more women are working on ways to achieve a more “westernized” look.

In some areas, the most coveted types of surgery include rhinoplasty, facelift surgery and even breast augmentation. For many, surgery isn’t a viable solution for transforming the appearance, which is why Botox and other minimally invasive procedures are an attractive choice.

Botox Cosmetic works by filling out fine lines and wrinkles around the face and neck area, and can help to reduce the appearance of deeper lines on the forehead. While this treatment is coupled with some side effects, it continues to be one of the most sought-after anti aging treatments around the globe. More information about Botox can be found here.
