Posted by Cosmetic Surgery Review on May 22, 2009
In the wake of a series challenges with the FDA and oncoming competition from Ipsen, the makers of Dysport, Allergan, the makers of Botox, are ramping up their PR and marketing efforts to reposition themselves as the market leader for the famous wrinkle filler.
Allergan has announced the ‘Botox Cosmetic Express Success’ charitable education campaign that will benefit the non-profit Dress for Success organization. The company is donating a quarter of a million dollars to the organization, and the campaign has partnered with Vanessa Williams to raise awareness for the campaigns efforts.
According to Robert Grant, president of Allergan Medical, a division of Allergan, Inc., “Allergan has developed many programs to educate women about the product, especially the importance of seeing a licensed and trained physician. Through this campaign, Allergan also will be realizing the important philanthropic goal of helping disadvantaged women around the country fulfill their professional potential and express their success.” (Source : Press Release for Express Success Campaign)
The Dress for Success organization helps economically disadvantaged women thrive in the workplace and boost their self-esteem, by providing professional clothing and accessories. To launch this campaign with Allergan’s support, the organization is hosting an online drive, with Allergan donating $2 for each of the first 25,000 people who register for the campaign web site and pledge their support.
Supporters can register at www.ExpressSuccessCampaign.com, and all registrants will also be entered to win a trip for two to New York City to meet Vanessa Williams and get some workplace success tips.
Allergan ambassadors and Vanessa Williams will be hosting the campaign launch in New York City’s Union Square on June 30, in addition to a celebrity ‘Rack Relay Race’ and a public clothing drive. The first 100 people to pre-register for the race will receive a complimentary BOTOX Cosmetic treatment from a trained, licensed aesthetic-specialty physician, and the winners of the race will win a lunch meeting with Vanessa Williams in New York City.
