phoenixplasticsurgeoncookbookIf 2009 is your year to clean up an unhealthy diet and embark on new routines towards a healthier lifestyle, an anti-aging diet could be part of the regimen.  Dr. Heidi Regenass, a plastic surgeon from Phoenix, Arizona has recently released “Dr. Heidi’s Anti-Aging Cookbook“, a set of guidelines for healthier living that can help you look and feel beautiful from inside out.

Dr. Regenass explains that many foods that we eat on a regular basis actually speed up the aging process; diets full of sugars, alcohol and saturated fat can trigger the aging response, which means you may be a candidate for premature aging.

She recommends proper nutrition with a variety of ‘power foods’ to help reduce the symptoms of premature aging.  Her cookbook features recipes made with several ‘superfoods’, giving the body a chance to reach an optimal state with the vitamins, minerals and nutrients it needs to stay healthy.

Dr. Regenass states that;  “We have to use the power of our food ingredients to slow down the aging process. Antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients all play a significant role in our health which also reflects in the severity of our fine lines and wrinkles and our skin elasticity.”  (Source:

While the plastic surgeon does encourage eating a healthy diet and maintaining an exercise regimen in order to look better, she also explains that this self-care strategy also complements both surgical and non-surgical plastic and cosmetic surgery treatments.  Since the body has a stronger chance of healing and repairing itself after surgery, results of many surgeries and treatments may be much better.

still, individuals who want to slow down the aging process using a natural approach may benefit from the recipes and tips outlined in the book.  The book features several different styles of cooking and easy, step-by-step recipes for almost all culinary skill levels.
