Stem Cells Enter Cosmetics Department – Latest Anti Aging Breakthrough

Posted by Cosmetic Surgery Review on October 17, 2008

Proteoderm Stem Cell CosmeceuticalsCosmeceuticals are entering the rapidly growing anti-aging market, a line of cosmetic products designed to stop the signs of aging, promote healing and stimulate healthy skin cell growth.

Researchers at Proteonomix, Inc., a company that specializes in regenerative medicine and stem cell therapeutics, has recently announced the release of its Proteoderm line of cosmetic products that, the company claims, are made with stem cells.

Stem cells are the body’s natural resources for cell rejuvenation and healthy tissue growth, but the aging process can limit the body’s ability to activate these cells on a regular basis.  Skincare products that are made with stem cells may help deliver a healthy dose of essential proteins to the skin in order to stimulate collagen production and improve cellular functioning.

The Proteoderm product line includes a night cream, day cream and intensive exfoliatior which helps buff away dead skin cells and replenishes the skin with essential proteins needed for cell regeneration.

The products will be promoted as an anti-aging skin care system through physician’s offices in 2009, and promise results in as little as one month.

The company claims that the skin care products help to:

  • Reduce wrinkles and fine lines
  • Enhance the skin’s natural moisture levels
  • Create radiant and more youthful skin
  • Smooth out rough patches
  • Improve skin’s texture

More information about the product line can be found on the Proteoderm website.
