Would You Get Cosmetic Surgery if Insurance Paid?

Posted by Cosmetic Surgery Review on July 17, 2008

It was once reserved for celebrities and millionaires, a luxury expense for those willing to spend thousands of dollars to lose fat, reduce wrinkles, and erase a few years.  Now, cosmetic surgery has become a necessary expense for many Americans; over 11 million procedures were performed in 2007, and the future of cosmetic surgery looks promising. But how many people are willing to go under the knife regardless of the expense?

A recent poll of readers on shows that more than 66% of people are ‘happy to get plastic surgery‘, while others are less inclined to maintain their youthful looks with cosmetic enhancements.

MSNBC reports that some insurance companies are even willing to pay for the cost of plastic surgery, and many are offering ‘premium’ insurance packages that cost elective surgery treatments.  For some, this may mean pursuing treatment abroad to offset out-of-pocket expenses.  Medical tourism is on the rise, and some Americans are enjoying discounts of up to 75% off the regular price of treatment by finding a plastic surgeon overseas.

Low offshore prices, insurance coverage and professional treatment to finally get that makeover could fuel a new trend.

The question is, are you willing to go ahead with an all-expenses paid surgery?
