After American Idol judge Simon Cowell made a remark about Gordon Ramsay’s chin, the tough chef decided that his future success may have something to do with his appearance – and has undergone plastic surgery to improve his looks.
According to a recent report in Sky News, Gordon Ramsay underwent a painful chin procedure to correct the lines and grooves around his chin and jawline, and also had several Botox injections to get rid of the lines and furrows on his scalp. The celebrity chef says that his mini cosmetic surgery makeover was the result of the comments from colleague Simon Cowell.
The deep grooves that were once on Ramsay’s chin may have been corrected with a modified version of a facelift or a set of dermal fillers that can help to fill out facial tissues and create a smoother, more sculpted appearance. This is a popular procedure for both men and women who are undergoing the aging process, and the use of dermal fillers offers instant results.
Smile lines, frown lines and other signs of aging can also be corrected with laser skin resurfacing procedures, a combination of dermal fillers that create a ‘liquid facelift’, and dermabrasion or microdermabrasion treatments. Almost all skin types can benefit from these types of procedures, and injectables such as Juvederm, Hydrelle and Botox present few side effects.
Gordon Ramsay isn’t the only celebrity who is outspoken about going under the knife to improve his looks. Celebrities including Joan Rivers, Britney Spears, Jane Seymor and Lindsay Lohan have all made public statements regarding their nips and tucks, and many celebrities maintain a routine schedule of anti aging treatments to preserve their youthful looks.
Among the most sought-after procedures by celebrities are liposuction, breast augmentation, facelift surgery and facial recontouring.

In addition to her surgery, Holly says that she stays in shape with yoga workouts three times per week, weight training and hiking.

Ms. Wolgemuth points to increasing research that says looks matter in the workplace, and self-confidence and self-image can help someone climb the corporate ladder with ease.
Earlier this year, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery reported that about two thirds of its member surgeons noticed an increase in demand for cosmetic surgery procedures by men and women that wanted to secure their jobs or interview for a new job in this competitive economy. Both men and women across several business industries including finance, marketing and advertising, are looking for effective, permanent ways to maintain their youthful looks, or even take off a few years.
Other research results published in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal as far back as 1999 also indicate that cosmetic surgery has many positive psychological benefits and can improve quality of life for some people. (Source: U.S. Library of Medicine)
Danni Minogue, sister of Kylie Minogue and one of the judges on the British show ‘X Factor’, recently revealed she has a Botox addiction.
The star claims that her obsession with Botox was triggered by a series of events including her sister Kylie being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, and one of he close friends passing away. Ms. Minogue says that taking steps to improve her looks was a way of coping with the stress and difficult times she was facing.
Danni recently told The Sun that she is now free from the addiction, and that “I don’t need Botox now and I don’t want it. Life is so different now. I’m in such an incredible place.” In a recent report by Ireland Online Entertainment, the 38-year old star gave up Botox after falling in love with model Kris Smith.
A psychologist and plastic surgeon published research results about ‘Boto x addiction’ back in 2006 after finding that four in ten people who use Botox often develop a compulsion to become habitual users and maintain their youthful appearance. (Source: ConsumerAffairs.com)
Since the treatment wears off after a few months, getting Botox injections can be a cycle that some people never really come off. Botox ‘addicts’ may demand more injections, or continue to get injections before the previous treatment has worn off completely. Most Botox treatments last about four to six months.
ConsumerAffairs.com reports that doctors can look for warning signs of a Botox addiction. While there are no reported negative effects of using Botox on a regular basis, but there have been no studies of possible side effects, either.
Individuals suffering from a Botox addiction may need to see a psychologist or counselor to find out what triggered the compulsion to look younger and use Botox regularly. Underlying causes may include depression, fear, anxiety or boredom.
Simon Cowell, the famous judge from American Idol told then 18-year old Katrina Lee that he “wished he could put her voice in someone else’s body.” The young singer took this to heart and set out to change her appearance with the help of a plastic surgeon, a dentist and a personal trainer.
According to The Daily Mail, the X-Factor contestant spent a handsome sum of money to lose weight and improve her appearance so that she could face the judges again.
Katrina reportedly had laser surgery on her face, liposuction, cosmetic dental work and also hired a personal trainer to help her maintain her new figure. She also dyed her hair bright orange for her audition in Glasgow this summer. Her investment may have paid off, because Ms. Lee managed to impress the judges at the audition and she proceeded to the boot camp round of the contest.
Simon Cowell had confessed that “That’s not a nice thing I said” when Katrina faced him after his very-public critique. The conversation made UK headlines, and Katrina claims that after that particular audition, her confidence was crushed and she also battled an eating disorder. She has spent the past five years ‘perfecting herself’ so that she could meet the star standard and start auditioning again.
She told The Sun, “I had to go back and rewrite history. What happened to me the last time nearly tipped me over the edge. It was terrible.”
Since her plastic surgery transformation that has included a significant amount of weight loss, facial surgery and dental work, Katrina feels like she’s a new woman. Her transformation has given her the boost of confidence she needed to get through her auditions with flying colors, and Katrina says, “I’m really pleased I’ve come this far.”
Demi Moore, 46 has been under scrutiny by the media and fans for several years as she seems to show no signs of aging. Some people believe that Demi Moore has had liposuction, breast augmentation, and a facelift to maintain her youthful appearance, but Demi recently told Marie Claire France that “[The rumors] are completely false. I’ve never had it done. I don’t like the idea of having an operation to hold up the aging process. The scalpel won’t make you happy.”
While Demi insists that she stays in great shape by following a healthy diet and exercising regularly, critics are still determined to prove their point. In a recent Twitter debate, doubtful Twitter enthusiasts and bloggers posted their thoughts on whether Demi has had plastic surgery, and Demi defended herself by posting replies and tweeting, “All this garbage that came out today about me is nothing more than an effort to diminish not just me, but all women.”
According to the Daily Mail, Demi Moore had spent more than £220,000 for her makeover (approximately $363,000). It was at this time that she also started working out with a personal trainer and hired a nutritionist and yoga teacher to keep her in great shape.
Plastic surgeons across the country are speculating whether Ms. Moore has undergone cosmetic procedures, and according to an article from MakeMeHeal.com, experts do believe that the Hollywood star has gone under the knife. Experts contend that she has had the following procedures: liposuction on her hips, thighs and stomach, breast augmentation, a brow lift, collagen injections, dental veneers, a chemical facial skin peel, and knee liposuction to keep her legs looking lean.
Brazilian Soccer superstar Ronaldo has undergone liposuction surgery to lose approximately 700 milliliters (approximately 24 ounces) of fat from his abdomen, according to a report in Brazil’s Globoesporte. The surgery was designed to help him move forward faster and be more agile when he returns to the field, and the small amount of fat removed may not be very noticeable.
The surgery was performed in Sao Luiz Hospital in Sao Paulo, and took approximately one hour.
Ronaldo had been named the “fattest footballer in history” in 2008 by the Sun, and has always struggled with keeping his weight down, reports RussiaToday.com. He had reportedly gained some weight after a year of being off the field due to an injury. Despite his excess weight, the soccer superstar has still managed to win two World Cups and earned the FIFA Player of the Year award three times during his career.
Ronaldo had originally planned on having the fat removal surgery done after a local soccer league championship in December 2009, but went ahead with the surgery this summer when he broke two bones in his right wrist and needed to visit the doctor’s office for reconstructive/corrective surgery.
Ronaldo is expected to recover from the liposuction procedure completely by September 2009.
Liposuction surgery continues to be one of the most sought-after procedures in the United States, and is also a popular procedure for those who pursue plastic surgery overseas in Brazil and other regions of South America. Today’s innovative techniques in fat removal procedures allow surgeons to complete many surgeries in less than a few hours, and in some cases, using only local anesthetic. This technique puts less stress on the body, and promises faster recovery times. Procedures such as ultrasound-assisted liposuction and laser-assisted liposuction not only get rid of excess body fat, but also help to tighten up loose skin and sculpt the treated area.
Suzanne Somers is 62 years old and has worked hard to maintain her youthful appearance. She owns an anti-aging product empire with a lineup of books, fitness videos, fitness equipment and nutritional supplements, and works with several world-renown brands to promote bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and other natural youth-promoting regimens.
According to a recent article on MakeMeHeal.com, Suzanne Somers’s looks may not necessarily be the result of all the products she promotes. Dr. Sherrell Aston, Dr. Jennifer Walden, Dr. Paul Nassif and Dr. David Shafer recently interviewed with Make Me Heal to discuss the possibility that Suzanne Somers has had plastic and cosmetic surgery to enhance her looks.
Dr. Jennifer Walden believes that Miss Somers has used fillers to create more fullness in her cheeks. Dr. Sherrell Aston believes that Suzanne Somers may have even had a facelift, blepharoplasty and lip injections. Other doctors contend that the star has definitely had Botox to get rid of crow’s feet, and lip augmentation to achieve plumper, youthful-looking lips.
Suzanne Somers has neither confirmed or denied that she has had any ‘outside help’ to achieve her youthful look, and experts are still debating whether her youthful appearance is the result of the products she promotes, or the result of cosmetic and plastic surgery interventions.
Somers’ current lineup of anti-aging products includes LifeExtension bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, Somersize diet programs that promote weight loss and healthy skin, the SUZANNE beauty product line, and a facial ‘lifting’ device designed to combat fine lines and wrinkles and promote a healthier appearance.
Although none of the products Suzanne Somers promotes have been endorsed by medical doctors or anti-aging specialists, her anti-aging empire of products is among the top selling products on the consumer market. Still, experts warn that she is promoting these products without a medical license or professional references, and may not necessarily be achieving her youthful look without cosmetic intervention.
Celebrities are famous for leading some of today’s trends in cosmetic and plastic surgery, and Botox continues to be one of the most sought-after procedures for Hollywood starlets and actors looking to freshen up their looks. Unfortunately, many red carpet legends go overboard with their procedures, setting themselves up for a plastic surgery disaster. Christian Slater has recently joined the ranks of ‘Botox addicts’ in Hollywood after a series of Botox injections that have left his forehead looking overly smooth.
According to MakeMeHeal.com, facial plastic surgery expert Dr. Paul Nassif says the 39-year-old actor may have overdone the Botox this season because his forehead is very low and very, very smooth. His eyebrows now look more arched than ever, especially since the actor has a prominent receding hairline.
Some people speculate the actor has also had hair transplants to freshen up his look, but with the extra Botox, his face almost looks frozen in place.
Signs of too much Botox include a very-feminine appearance that becomes more pronounced in men that use it, an unusually smooth forehead or upper facial area, and an imbalance in skin tone on the forehead when compared to the cheeks and neck.
For now, Botox is still one of the quickest and most effective ways to get rid of wrinkles and improve the appearance, but there is no guarantee that it will produce the most natural-looking results. Still, Hollywood leads the way in maintaining demand for non-invasive procedures such as Botox, and other cosmetic treatments such as VelaShape skin tightening treatments, SmoothShapes for cellulite reduction, and injectable fillers to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines around the face with a ‘liquid facelift’ treatment.
Still, the risk of overdoing the procedure runs high with these treatments, especially fillers like Restylane, Botox and other injectables. In almost all cases, reversal treatments for fillers are not possible so the individual has to wait for the body to absorb the compounds in order to restore their natural appearance.
The SmoothShapes cellulite treatment is one of the newest non-invasive cosmetic procedures available in the United States, and has steadily gained popularity among women who struggling with unsightly cellulite on their thighs, buttocks or stomach.
Most recently, a star of the hit TV series “Real Housewives of Orange County” headed to the plastic surgery office to undergo a series of SmoothShapes treatments.
Jeanna Keough says she was becoming self-conscious about the cottage-cheese appearance of her skin, especially for pictures and close-ups on television. She’s been turning to Marina Plastic Surgery Associates in Los Angeles to take advantage of the benefits of this cellulite reduction treatment, and improve her figure.
SmoothShapes is one of the few non-invasive cellulite treatments that can help reduce inches and smooth out rippled and dimpled skin. It works with a combination vacuum device and laser heat energy that pulls up and stretches the skin and tissues, stimulates circulation, and strengthens the skin tissues overall. This proprietary technology is much more effective than standard cellulite body wraps, creams and full-body massages that claim to reduce cellulite. The intensive massage action of SmoothShapes can be very effective for body contouring, and may also be beneficial for those who have undergone liposuction and are looking for an effective skin tightening treatment.
Although SmoothShapes cannot get rid of cellulite permanently, it can help to tighten and smooth out the skin so that the treated area appears more toned and firm. SmoothShapes cellulite treatments are backed by over seven years of research and clinical trials, and the procedure is currently available at several medical spas and cosmetic surgery centers around the country.
In a recent press release about Ms. Keough’s treatments, the TV star says she “feels much more confident in her body.” An upcoming episode of Real Housewives will feature Jeanna talking about her SmoothShapes experience, and show off her results.
The ‘King of Botox’, also known as Dr. Jean Louis Sebagh, has a long list of celebrity clientele who head to this dermatology office for their Botox fix and other anti-aging treatments. Dr. Sebagh has recently been in the spotlight after working with supermodel Cindy Crawford to promote the ‘Meaningful Beauty’ skincare line.Dr. Sebagh also has has own anti-aging skincare line that includes a set of medical-grade treatments to slow down the aging process and improve the quality of the skin.
In a recent interview with a Russian TV news reporter,Dr. Sebagh claims that 90 percent of the celebrities he sees have had some form of cosmetic surgery or treatments. Dr. Sebagh claims that he is ‘under contract’ and could not disclose the names of the celebrities that he has treated, or who he knows that has had a cosmetic treatment. However, he does point out that Cindy Crawford is one of the few who has not had any work done.Ms. Crawford has publicly stated that she “doesn’t feel the need for it”, and has not had Botoxfrom Dr. Sebagh, or plastic surgery of any kind.
Dr. Sebagh has very specific criteria for the types of patients he works with. He explains that he does refuse patients when needed, because he wants to work with patients who are between 30-35 years of age, and the patient must understand the process of ageing and be realistic about the results they can achieve. He says as a doctor, he has to respect his patients, and doesn’t think that celebrities ‘go public’ about their enhancements because they are usually bound by contracts that prohibit any type of promotion of beauty products – including Botox.
Dr. Sebagh’s anti-aging line includes repair serums, exfoliating masks, sun protection cream, firming body creams and eye-enhancing products.More information about Dr. Sebagh’s skincare line can be reviewed here.
